Automatic Longline Hauler from Delitek Marin can be installed on vessels from 10m. It integrates easily in both newbuilds and as retrofit. The technology is suitable for both conventional hulled vessels as well as small high-speed vessels
First some history
ALH system is patented in Norway and selected fishing nations around the world.
At Nor-Fishing 2004, the first Innovation award was awarded to Delitek AS for the first generation of an external version of the ALH technology. The prize was won in sharp competition and Delitek is proud to be awarded such a reward and proof of proper commitment to an important link within fisheries. Since 2006, the concept has changed radically and there has been considerable effort in developing an integrated (built-in) version of the system.
In 2011, Øyvind Bolle, Båtsfjord, took delivery of "Ingvaldson",a 15 m high speed smack (Speedsjark), and in 2012, shipowner André Steffen, Myre, took delivery of the 11 m "Havbryn". Both shipowners operate with a traditional hand-suitable line, but here the similarity of traditional vessels stops. Both vessels are equipped with ALH system and are built with high standard and good comfort for the crew. The choice was simple for these shipowners: "It is about efficiency, health and safety of those who are at sea-and not least that we want recruitment to longline fisheries".
What is the ALH system?
The purpose of the new ALH technology concept is to increase efficiency and earnings, reduce accidental loss of fish, improve working environment and increase safety for fishermen in longline fisheries. The Integrated Automatic Longline Hauler system (ALH) is an arrangement which can be used by both small coastal vessels and larger ocean-going boats. Fish is hauled in through a hatch in the vessel's side near the water’s surface. In this way, the line (with fish) is no longer hauled over the roller of the vessel's railing, as is the case in traditional/conventional longline hauling.
Why should you invest in the ALH system?
Responsible and efficient fishing with high quality landings
No gaff-marks in fish improves the product to the consumer
More fish cought during hauling improves income
Safer hauling process reduces loss of valuable resources and raise the ethical standards
Sheltered - safe operation for the crew improves the general comfort
More time for preserving the outsranding quality of line-cought fish
Advanced technology brings the modern longline fisheries one step closer to the future
